MIC29302AWD-TR is a high-current, low-dropout voltage regulator that uses Microchip's proprietary Super βeta PNP process with a PNP pass element. The 3A LDO regulator features 560mV (full load) dropout voltage and very low ground current. Designed for high-current loads, this device also find applications in lower current, low-dropout critical systems, where their dropout voltages and ground current values are important attributes. Along with a total accuracy of ±2% (over temperature, line, and load regulation), the regulator features very fast transient recovery from input voltage surges and output load current changes. The application includes processor peripheral and I/O supplies, high-efficiency green computer systems, automotive electronics, high-efficiency linear lower supplies, battery-powered equipment, PC add-in cards, and high-efficiency post-regulator for switching supply.

- Fast transient response, output voltage accuracy is 2% maximum at (100mA ≤ IOUT ≤ 3A)
- Load regulation is 0.2% typical at (VIN = VOUT + 1V, 100mA ≤ IOUT ≤ 3A)
- Dropout voltage is 100mV typical at (OUT = 100mA, VIN ≥ 3.184V)
- Ground Current is 5mA typical at (IOUT = 750mA, VIN = VOUT + 1V)
- Output noise voltage is 400µVRMS typical at (CL = 10µF, 10Hz to 100KHz)
- Current limit is 4A typical at (VOUT = 0V, TA = +25°C)
- Adjust pin bias current is 120nA maximum at (VIN = 4.184V; IOUT = 100mA; TA = +25°C)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 5-lead D-Pak (TO-252) package
