MAX912EPE+

The MAX912EPE+ is a dual, ultra-fast, low power, precision TTL comparator in 16 pin DIP package. It has a unique design that prevents oscillation when comparator is in its linear region. This high speed comparator can be powered from a single +5V supply or a ±5V split supply. Fast propagation delay of 10ns, extremely low supply current and a wide common mode input range that includes the negative rail make MAX912 ideal for low power, high speed, single +5V (or ±5V) applications such as V/F converters or switching regulators. The outputs remain stable through the linear region and this eliminates output instability common to high speed comparators when driven with slow moving input signal. It is an improved plug-in replacement for the LT1016. It is typically used in zero crossing detectors, Ethernet line receivers, switching regulators, high speed sampling circuits, high speed triggers, extended range V/F converters and fast pulse width/height discriminators.

• Supply voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V, -2V to -7V
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
• Input range extends below negative supply, independent latch controls
• No minimum input signal slew rate requirement and no power supply current spiking
• 6mA positive supply current per comparator and 1mA negative supply current per comparator
• Stable in the linear region and inputs can exceed either supply
• Input offset voltage of 0.1mV at TA = +25°C and input offset current of 0.3μA at TA = +25°C
• Input bias current of 2μA at TA = +25°C
• CMRR of 110dB at -5.0V ≤ VCM ≤ +3.5V and PSRR of 85dB at 4.5V ≤ V+ ≤ 5.5V positive supply
• Differential inputs and complementary TTL outputs
